My Background:

I obtained my City and Guilds certificate at a young age and during the years I specialised in traditional painting and decorating techniques, for which I even did two years of extensive training.

I have been self-employed for over 25 years now, during which I acquired a lot of experience in both large-scale jobs and the more small and bespoke services. As I like variety in my work, I will take on jobs of all scales and sizes and am able to cover any budget. From painting a fence to redecorating an office building, I can handle it all.

My speciality is wallpaper hanging. Since this is a job that requires patience and experience, it gives me immense satisfaction to see a room papered to a high level.

How I work

I will come around for an initial inspection and will send you an estimate within two days. My estimates are always itemised, so you know what you pay for! Therefore your budget is safe and you don’t have to worry about any extra costs at the end of the job.

I will take the time to finish your job and will try and work around your life. For example, if I would redecorate an office, if it were more convenient, I would try and do certain jobs outside office hours. I will not overbook myself, therefore ensuring that the work is finished at the time agreed. There is nothing worse for the client than decorating jobs that go on and on and on!

Design advice

As I keep myself up to date with the latest trends and know about new products that come on the market, I can advise you on which materials or colours to go with. I often come across prospective clients who have a vague idea of what they want. If I can then offer further advice, I can assure the client the room is going to look exactly as they imagined. I can supply colour charts and wallpaper samples to give you an idea of which colours work together.

Preparation-only service

DIY is getting more and more popular these days. The trouble however is that preparation takes a lot more time than most people think. The fun bit of course is painting and wallpapering to get the instant result, but preparation is the most important factor of the job. It will determine what the overall effect will be.

I offer a preparation-only service for those who are enthusiastic about home-decoration, but want to leave the hard work to someone else. I will strip your old wallpaper, sand down the woodwork, fill all the holes for you and I can even line the walls for you, ready to get the new colours on the walls! An invaluable service for that professional finish with a Done-It-Myself feeling!

The No-Compromise Promise

During my years in the trade I have seen a lot of products come and go. My experience has taught me always to go with quality over quantity, especially in home decorating products. I am proud of the work I do and would never compromise on the quality of materials I work with. My paint of choice is Dulux, unless otherwise instructed. I can give you full advice on other materials like wallpapers, etc. when we meet.
